Stress forms part of modern life, though history indicates that it has been with us forever. Hypnosis for managing stress is hardly a new idea. In fact, it is one of the most effective ways of dealing with stress, but perhaps not for the reasons you think. The psychology of stress is a huge subject and struggles to define stress effectively.
Now, a great deal has been written on the subject of Stress, much of it dealing with how to manage the symptoms of stress. It would seem that, if we could just relax, we could be free of stress. This is just not the case.
For a start, the symptoms of stress would seem to be endless and don’t really help with how to deal with stress…..
SYMPTOMS of STRESS
- Insomnia
- Excess Sleeping
- Loss of Libido
- Sex Addiction
- Loss of Appetite
- Overeating
- Over Activity
- Inactivity
- And on, and on, and on…..
So, just what is a useful Stress definition that can show us how to deal with stress?
STRESS DEFINITION
Stress is the reaction in a person’s body or mind, when that person perceives a potential threat to their emotional or physical well-being.
This is a really important definition, and leads us to how Norfolk Hypnotherapy techniques are so effective with Stress problems. The operative word here is ‘perceives’. If a person does not perceive a situation as potentially harmful, it isn’t stressful.
Since our perceptions are based on our beliefs, and our beliefs are held in the Subconscious mind, they are easily altered, assuming effective training and skill on the part of the Hypnotherapist.
In my experience, it should just take about 3 Sessions of No-Nonsense Hypnotherapy.
